People are always surprised when they find out that Saminga actually has quite a few competent artificers working for him. They probably shouldn't be: necromancy is Death's major operational priority as an organization, so it's not unreasonable to expect them to be good at it. That implies a certain institutional knowledge and acceptance of Enchantment among Samingans. As necromancy is not the only thing that uses the Enchantment skill, it follows then that various Servitors of Death would have branched out into other fields of artifact creation.

Minor Financial Issue [Updated]

As you may have noticed, my website Liber Licentiae Moeticae now has side advertisements. Fair enough: Stormloader needs to make its money. The problem is that the ads are covering text. I've emailed the webmaster, and while I've been told that they're working on the problem the fact that they're working suggests to me that they won't fix it any time soon. They also suggested that I upgrade to an ad-free site ($19.99/yr); more on that later, but that's also diagnostic.

I don't really want to move every single one of those files, reformat their links, and put them up on a new site. There are hundreds, if not thousands, and I have some pretense to having a life. Unfortunately, now that I am a stay-at-home dad and not working a twenty looks a heck of a lot larger than it did. Don't get me wrong: there are no meals being missed and I have a roof over my head; but I have an extremely limited luxury budget these days, and not having ads mess up my site is a luxury.

So, this is what I'm going to do. I've put up the PayPal button: if people want to toss in enough cash for the ad-free upgrade, great. If not, I'll wait a decent amount of time and try to find a new free site that will let people at least read it. Either way, I'll be adding new, original content* every day until the end of the year - yeah, just like the old days, but hopefully with better quality. This is an experiment, mind you: I don't have very many non-political readers, after all, and you folks have better things to spend your money on than moi. I'm not going to be upset if it doesn't pan out.
