BFG
A BFG is a type of handcrafted firearm expressly designed to put down celestials. They are usually about the size of a sawed-off shotgun (albeit one with an alarmingly large bore): the item was clearly designed with "stopping power" as the first consideration - and with aesthetics not being considered at all. The "bullet" is more of a rocket, designed to penetrate flesh just far enough to set off the explosive charge in its head. BFGs are strictly one-shot weapons: to reuse, unscrew and discard the used barrel and insert a new one, which will already have its propellant and bullet inserted inside of it. Doing so takes about five minutes and a gunsmith's toolkit.
To fire, point the muzzle at the target (which should be no more than ten yards away), yank at the trigger (which will set off the electric charge that launches the rocket), and don't fight being knocked back a yard or two (because the shooter will really be needing some cover in a few seconds anyway). On impact, it does 10d6 explosive damage to whatever it hits, and it will completely ignore any Protection under 10 at the primary impact area. The blast will also knock over anything with less mass than, say, a subcompact car, which is usually good for another 1d6 Body Hits unless the victim makes a Strength -2 roll. On the bright side, a BFG load is specifically designed to maximize damage at impact, reduce damage by 1 per 1d for every 2 yards. The damage is calibrated to reliably knock out an average strength celestial with 3 Corporeal Forces and a level/3 vessel; a normal human shot by this item will pretty much not so much die as explode.
Contrary to popular belief, Hellsworn are not forbidden to carry this weapon. They are merely forbidden to carry this weapon without a signed authorization form validated by a demon with a Knight's-level Distinction. This is surprisingly easy for them to get: while most demons dislike having even authorized humans armed with this thing around - and while (for once) most angels can see their point - there are still plenty of times when you need to be able to reliably put a celestial on the ground. The amount of damage that it takes to do that is usually high enough that missing the shot can cause truly extensive amounts of Disturbance... unless you have a human doing the shooting, of course. He'll be loud, flashy, blatantly violent, true - but he won't be disrupting the Tether down the street, and being able to point that out has saved the anal scales of more than one party of celestials at the debriefing.
Still, it's not exactly something that celestials want to see being, ah, waved around, or anything...
