Capsule Description: Found in Germany's Black Forest, this hybrid creature is apparently a baroque in-joke by the Symphony: the natives of the region believe it firmly mythical, and so are unable to determine that the stories told to them back by gullible tourists are actually true. Fortunately, Wolpertingers are not aggressive, although sufficient provocation will cause them to attack, quite effectively.
Unfortunately, the rumor that the presence of a beautiful naked woman will attract a Wolpertinger is untrue. This was repeatedly tested by the researcher on multiple nights, no less than five times a night: several times six; and one evening, twelve.

Capsule Description of Reporter (OPTIONAL): Oliver is a Penitent Outcast Impudite of Lust assigned to the Wind for rehabilitation. He'll be reporting for Redemption Real Soon Now. No, really.
Sadly, the Cracked article appears to be gone. You might like to know (if you don't already) that Wolpertingers appear as pets in World of Warcraft; they live in ale tankards, and can only be seen by their owners and drunken people. :)
